Application form for a science assessment of a carbon removal activity

Overview

You can use this application form to request the Ministry for the Environment (the Ministry)  conduct a science assessment of a specific carbon removal activity.

This assessment will consider whether the carbon removal activity meets the criteria, based on your application and the evidence you provide. Assessors may also rely on other available information to conduct the assessment.

The assessment only looks at the carbon removal activity, not specific projects.

If you’re applying you must read the application guidance first. It is highly recommended that you also use the Carbon Removal Activity Check first.

The Carbon Removal Activity Check is a self-assessment tool which provides feedback on your responses in real time, allowing you to test your readiness to complete this application.

  • You may choose to upload non-public information such as reports your organisation has commissioned. You must indicate if you also wish to submit commercially sensitive information.

Ensure the evidence you submit is diverse and robust

We recommend you have a wide variety of independently peer reviewed evidence from reputable sources.

Assessors may consider other available information about the carbon removal activity, even if it isn’t included in your application. Add as much information as possible, even inconclusive evidence about an activity.
