Have your say on options to reduce emissions from organic waste

Overview

The Ministry for the Environment is seeking feedback on options to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from organic waste, as part of the Government’s second Emissions Reduction Plan.

We have developed a Sector Feedback Document which outlines a range of potential measures to reduce emissions from organic waste.

We invite your views on:

  • your experience and needs in managing organic waste
  • the feasibility of the options presented
  • where the greatest emissions reductions could be achieved.

Your feedback will help inform potential implementation pathways and planning, including how options could be prioritised and phased.

How to have your say

To provide feedback, read the Sector Feedback Document: Have Your Say on Options to Reduce Emissions from Organic Waste.

Submit your feedback in the form below by 11.59pm on Sunday, 12 July 2026
