Consultation questions

1. Are there any other main drivers you think should be included?

Please explain your answer here
Food production - although mentioned it's not enough! We should be looking at the whole picture, there is no mention of horticulture - the amount of land being ripped up and taken over by horticulture is incredible, the establishment of orchards is expediential and the cost to the environment huge.
These horticulturists use multiple vehicles, often one per staff member, they use machinery and are forever applying chemicals in the form of fertilizers (nitrogen included), fungicides, pesticides, growth stimulants, hormones, thinners, blossom enhancers not to mention all the extras like cyanide for example.
We need to feed people in the right way and all industry's need to be looked at together at the same time.

2. How well does the way we describe what the future could look like align with your aspirations for the land and New Zealanders’ relationship with it?

3. Would you add to or change anything about the descriptions of what the future could look like?

Please explain your answer here
You need to realize there are a hell of a lot of people who just don't care, look at the roadside littering, items dumped because people are too lazy to take to the tip.
We need a society where it's easier to help the environment than to not.
Easy recycling - doesn't seem to exist
Renewable energy - why can't every new build house have a solar panel and a water tank?
We need to be more sustainable in the small ways - it all counts.
All trees/plants/grass should be included in the figures - not just a few - all plant life sequesters carbon

6. Do you have any final comments you would like to share about our draft briefing?

Add your comments, ideas, and feedback here.
These types of documents/consultations are complicated.
Most people don't understand what it actually means so it would be amazing to see this in lemans terms, so everybody gets a fair crack at having a response or an opinion.

The way these documents are written discriminates against a huge portion of society and they become very dissengaged.
